Following the mythology, Ariadne (in Latin: Arianna) is the daughter of King Minos from Crete; she aided Theseus to find his way out Minotaurs labyrinth by the idea of the thread that helped him follow his way back.
In the same way, Ariadne, since 1993, provides consultancy and support, offering the thread to give guidance within the world widest network.
Ariadne: the birth
In the spring of 1993 the term Internet was known in Italy only within the research institutes or the universities labs: it was impossible to think internet as a private use instrument, so that nobody made use of it as we do today. When Tim Berners-Lee was working at CERN in Geneva, has just published The World at Your Fingertips. The graphic browser Mosaic (created by Marc Anderson working in NCSA and later founded Netscape Corporation) had not been launched. In this context Ariadne was born from an idea of University of Pavia, Engineering Research Centres alumni.
Ariadne recognises the importance of the web and forecasts its possible needs in various several business fields.
Ever since, Ariadne has consolidated its own experience: first of all, it developed a very strong technologic competence, second, it applied these competences on the different market sectors: banking, business, insurance, logistics, gross deliveries, public administration and universities.
